National Gourmet Coffee Day

National Gourmet Coffee Day

National Gourmet Coffee Day is held on January 18th in the United States. We all love gourmet coffee, and to prove it, just go around the corner and I am sure you will find a national coffee chain’s store or a locally-owned coffee place to get that nice gourmet cup of coffee. Coffee is said to be the most popular drink in the world, so I’m sure many coffee-lovers celebrate this special day no matter which day of the year it is.

Gourmet coffee, according to the Coffee Association of America, is coffee that scores 80 points or above on a 100 point scale. The number one coffee this year is called Kenya Guam Peaberry which is roasted by Bird Rock Coffee Roaster from San Diego, California.

In addition to its taste and dose of caffeine, coffee has some health benefits, with moderation. Chefs are now using some of these gourmet coffee varieties in their dishes, such as steaks, sauces and desserts. Today is the perfect day to not only have a great cup of gourmet coffee, but to also find unique ways incorporate it into a dish for your favorite coffee aficionado.
